EA Reports Q3 FY 2009 Results, Cuts 1,100 Jobs
Electronic Arts reported today preliminary financial results for its fiscal third quarter ended December 31, 2008. The publisher posted a wider net loss for its fiscal third quarter and fell short of analysts' expectations by losing $641 million, or $2 per share.
The company announced that , in order to cut costs it will lay off about 1,100 employees, or about 11 percent of its workforce. Furthermore, EA announced the delay of several games, including The Godfather II, The Sims 3 and Dragon Age: Origins.
